Job Summary:

As a Clinical Care Tech at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care to support a unit or facility as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN). Your responsibilities will include facilitating patient safety and environmental support activities, demonstrating respect, dignity, kindness, and empathy in each encounter with patients, families, visitors, and other employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Participate as a member of the patient care delivery team by collecting basic laboratory specimens, performing EKGs, assisting with lifting and transporting patients, and performing vital signs.
  • Transport patients to testing and perform CPR on full arrests as a member of the code team.
  • Follow all policies and procedures in the collection of laboratory samples and in the performance of EKGs, in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Collect quality samples according to laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Assist with medical record keeping processes, order entry, and phone management.
  • Assist nursing staff in addressing patient care needs, rounding frequently, and ensuring the environment is conducive to care.
  • Communicate and update patients and families on a regular basis while they are waiting for treatment, tests, or disposition.
  • Assist in keeping the department clean and orderly, as well as keeping the department stocked with supplies.
  • Maintain a safe and effective work environment.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Functionally literate
  • BLS certification
Specialized Knowledge:
  • Ability to perform vital signs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
