Role Responsibilities:
The Case Manager I is responsible for empowering clients to achieve self-sufficiency. This includes welcoming newly arrived refugees and addressing their immediate needs. Case managers facilitate access to vital services such as language education, employment assistance, healthcare, and community resources. They also provide emotional support as clients navigate cultural adjustments and past traumas, while participating in a comprehensive Cultural Orientation program. Furthermore, case managers collaborate with clients to create actionable plans aimed at achieving long-term independence.
Key Duties:
- Organize and manage the reception of newly arrived refugees in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Maintain a caseload of 20-30 clients.
- Conduct initial meetings to outline available services.
- Connect clients with community resources to support their integration.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Experience:
- Preferred minimum of 6 months experience in case management or working with refugee populations, with a strong understanding of cultural and linguistic diversity.
- Effective communication skills in English, with fluency in a second language preferred, particularly languages common among refugee communities.
- Experience working in multicultural environments is essential.
