Position Overview: The Endovascular Imaging Technologist I at Houston Methodist is tasked with executing intricate radiological procedures utilizing advanced imaging technology to generate high-quality images for the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support physicians during therapeutic interventions that involve vascular, neurological, spinal, and multi-organ procedures, ranging from diagnostic tests like angiography and venography to complex treatments for strokes, aneurysms, and embolization of tumors.
  • Actively engage in vascular and interventional cases, assisting with the setup and alignment of equipment while managing radiation exposure throughout the procedures.
  • Deliver exceptional patient care while adhering to established radiation safety standards to ensure the highest level of patient safety and service.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform specialized imaging procedures using sophisticated equipment to produce diagnostic images.
  • Participate in patient care by effectively communicating and sharing relevant information with the healthcare team.
  • Maintain compliance with safety protocols and ensure all imaging equipment is in optimal working condition.

Quality and Safety: Follow radiation safety protocols diligently, utilizing ALARA principles to minimize exposure to patients and staff. Ensure proper sterile techniques are practiced and infection control measures are followed.

Documentation and Efficiency: Accurately document patient procedures and manage resources effectively to avoid waste. Demonstrate self-motivation in managing time and prioritizing tasks.

Professional Development: Engage in departmental initiatives and pursue opportunities for continuous learning and professional growth as an Endovascular Imaging Technologist I.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited educational program for the required credentials.
  • One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist with a focus on Special Procedures is preferred.
  • Licensure and certifications as required, including ARRT-R and BLS.

Skills and Abilities: Exhibit strong communication skills, proficiency in computer systems, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. Adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on patient care.
