Job Responsibilities:
As a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse at Cascades at Galveston, you will be responsible for providing direct patient care to geriatric residents who require 24/7 care. This will include:
- Medication Management: Ordering and administering medications, equipment, and supplies as prescribed by physicians.
- Treatment Administration: Preparing and administering treatments and medications as ordered by physicians.
- Communication and Documentation: Notifying residents' physicians and family members of changes in condition, and accurately completing necessary charting in a timely manner.
- Patient Advocacy: Serving as a patient advocate and ensuring that other healthcare team members are providing care according to the resident's care plan and personal wishes.
- Observation and Monitoring: Continuously observing and monitoring seriously ill residents.

Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you must possess:
- Current RN/LVN License: In good standing and valid for the state of Texas.
- Effective Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, family members, and healthcare team members.
- Decision-Making Ability: Ability to make decisions independently when warranted.
- Knowledge of Medical and Nursing Practices: Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to long-term care.
