Job Title: High School Math Teacher

Job Summary:

The Queen City Academy Charter School is seeking a highly qualified and passionate High School Math Teacher to join our team. As a Math Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment that fosters academic excellence and character development in our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Math curriculum that meets the needs of our students, including Algebra, Geometry, and Calculus.
  • Support students as they solve problems and think critically, using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Cultivate a love of mathematics in students, using real-world examples and applications to make the subject relevant and engaging.
  • Build a community of self-guided learners where students feel safe, confident, and engaged, and work with the Math department to determine academic and engagement goals for students.
  • Partner with students' families to ensure appropriate resources are available to support their child's learning needs, and engage in practice-based professional development, mentorship, and coaching sessions.
  • Participate in weekly, school-wide meetings to cultivate community, model our core values, and encourage student achievement, and partner with your grade level team to develop academic goals and practice instructional strategies.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold at minimum a Bachelor's degree and certification as appropriate, and be prepared to provide a copy of a valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the required PRAXIS tests. Applicants must demonstrate cultural sensitivity, ability to communicate with parents and students across lines of difference, have mastery of subject matter content, be a team player, hold high expectations of students, and possess basic understanding of child development.
