Job SummaryWe are seeking a Community Living Instructor to provide necessary instruction and support to participants, assisting them in maintaining their independence and safety in the community.
Responsibilities- Implement program curricula and deliver individual and group learning experiences to assist participants in achieving their goals.
- Maintain data on participant progress and participate in assessment, planning, and evaluation processes.
- Prepare teaching materials for Independent Living Skills Training and Support Service sessions.
- Schedule participant sessions and programming according to their Individual Service Plan.
- Provide training and support in areas such as money management, nutrition, cooking, and emergency procedures.
- Coordinate participant training programs with other programs and services.
- Assist participants in coordinating with other programs, services, and benefit systems.
- Understand and convey the participant-centered philosophy of A Bright Future, Inc.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must be vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19.
- Must have a driver's license and clean DMV record.
- Must be able to assist participants with getting in and out of bed.
- CPR and First Aid training or willingness to be trained within 30 days of employment.
- TB clearance within 30 days of employment.
- Department of Justice fingerprint clearance prior to employment.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening prior to employment.
- IHSS provider certification in the county(s) of placement within 30 days of employment.
The employee is required to talk and hear, regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, and reach within arm's length. The employee must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 40 pounds and possess visual acuity. The employee may be required to drive during their assigned work shift.
