Procurement Specialist

Job Summary: Gateway Recruiting seeks a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. This role coordinates activities involved with purchasing goods and services such as raw materials for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reviewing purchase requisitions and coordinating with vendors to obtain product or service information.
• Conducting market research to determine the best products for purchase, including price, availability, and delivery schedules.
• Estimating values according to market knowledge and determining the method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid.
• Preparing purchase orders or bid requests and reviewing bid proposals to negotiate contracts within budgetary limitations.
• Maintaining procurement records, including items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Collaborating with inspection or quality control personnel, users, and vendors to resolve issues with defective or unacceptable goods or services.
• Approving invoices for payment and expediting delivery of goods to users.
• Performing other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on procurement or supply chain management.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
