We are currently in search of a Senior Project Engineer to enhance our dynamic Program & Construction Management team.

The Senior Project Engineer will play a crucial role in managing the daily operations related to program management for K-14 projects, which encompass programming, planning, design, procurement, construction, and asset management for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate all aspects of the pre-construction, bidding, construction, and project close-out phases for assigned projects.
  • Review pre-construction documents and provide necessary feedback to the design team.
  • Organize and prepare status reports for upper management regarding project progress.
  • Collaborate with relevant public agencies during pre-construction and construction phases to ensure compliance with off-site work; liaise with various District and Project personnel.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules to align with the District's quality standards; monitor budgets monthly to ensure they accurately reflect project status.
  • Supervise daily contractor activities, review construction schedules and submissions, and address contractor inquiries through Requests for Clarifications (RFC) and related documents.
  • Evaluate substitution requests from contractors to ensure compliance with specifications and District requirements.
  • Assess and negotiate Contractor Change Order Proposals to establish fair pricing in line with General Conditions; address any schedule impacts in a timely manner.
  • Monitor payment processes for contractors, architects, engineers, and other relevant parties.
  • Administer Professional Service Agreements between architects and the District.
  • Coordinate the delivery of related fixtures, furniture, and equipment for the District.
  • Oversee project close-out procedures, ensuring project certification with the Division of State Architects (DSA) and financial close-out.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant full-time professional experience in Construction or a combination of Project and Construction Management for Commercial or Public/Educational Facility Construction, with at least three (3) years of the last ten (10) years involving full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values exceeding $10M.
  • Valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in design-build projects, particularly within public or educational facility construction.
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).
  • Knowledge of Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes.
  • Understanding of Safety and OSHA Safety Regulations (minimum OSHA 30).
  • Proven experience in coordinating complex projects with construction values exceeding $10M.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is between $95K and $115K, contingent upon the experience and expertise of the selected candidate.
