Position Overview:
The Healthcare Technology Consultant plays a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of healthcare technology across various clinical settings. This position demands a blend of advanced scientific, technical, and clinical expertise, coupled with exceptional administrative capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a senior advisor within the Healthcare Technology Management (HTM) Program Office, providing insights on medical technology.
2. Collaborate with clinical service lines and stakeholders to ensure optimal acquisition, deployment, and support of healthcare systems.
3. Enhance patient care by leveraging engineering and managerial skills to advance healthcare technology nationwide.

4. Formulate national policies, programs, and guidelines to standardize methodologies, protocols, and procedures across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) on behalf of the HTM Program Office.
5. Work in partnership with VHA Biomedical Engineering staff to deliver national policy, support, and guidance for the Healthcare Technology Management program.

6. Provide exemplary customer service and act as a consultative resource for all VHA personnel regarding Biomedical Engineering and Healthcare Technology Management.
7. Engage with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate the deployment and utilization of complex medical technologies.

8. Offer expert advice on medical technology issues and lead assessments by collaborating with medical staff to evaluate market offerings and establish national requirements.

Education and Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, or certification as a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) along with relevant experience in a healthcare setting.

Work Environment:
This role is primarily office-based, with some travel required. The position is designed to support the VHA's mission to provide high-quality healthcare services.
