Job Overview:

As a Lactation Consultant at TriHealth, you will provide expert guidance and support to breastfeeding families, nursing staff, midwives, and physicians. Your role will involve educating and counseling individuals on optimal breastfeeding practices, promoting a culture of lactation support, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify breastfeeding challenges and develop personalized plans for improvement.
  • Provide one-on-one education and support to breastfeeding mothers, addressing concerns and promoting successful lactation outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement lactation protocols, ensuring consistency and quality of care.
  • Develop and maintain educational materials, resources, and workshops to promote lactation awareness and best practices.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance lactation services and patient outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved technical, professional, or vocational program in lactation or a related field.
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification.
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification within 18 months of hire.
Working Conditions:

This role requires frequent standing, walking, and talking, as well as occasional lifting and bending. Visual acuity and hearing are essential for effective communication and patient care.
