Role Overview:

We are in search of a meticulous and seasoned Senior Accountant to enhance our financial operations. This position reports directly to the Controller and is essential for overseeing significant components of our accounting functions, which encompass Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), journal entries, and the upkeep of our general ledger. This role is vital for guaranteeing precise financial reporting and bolstering the fiscal stability of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee vendor and customer documentation, along with the general ledger, utilizing QuickBooks across various subsidiaries.
  • Administer accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and debt amortization schedules.
  • Generate and distribute monthly customer invoices; conduct monthly reconciliations of balance sheets and bank accounts.
  • Evaluate, process, and accurately categorize vendor invoices; manage payments through checks, wire transfers, and ACH.
  • Record weekly bank transactions, credit card transactions, cash receipts, and intercompany transactions.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to prepare payroll journal entries and necessary documentation.
  • Assist in the monthly closing procedures and execute month-end journal entries.
  • Support year-end activities, including 1099 preparation and W-9 management.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and process checklists, maintaining compliance with established policies.
  • Engage in special projects such as audits, data analysis, and account reconciliations.
  • Contribute to daily, weekly, and monthly financial reporting, along with other ad hoc reporting tasks.

Educational Background:

An Associate's degree in Accounting with 3-5 years of relevant experience is required; a Bachelor's degree in Accounting with over 5 years of experience is preferred.

Professional Experience:

  • Previous experience as a full-charge bookkeeper is highly preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in general accounting, with a robust understanding of GAAP.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.

Essential Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; intermediate skills in MS Word and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational capabilities and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
  • High attention to detail and the capacity to manage sensitive information with confidentiality.
