Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated science educator to join our team as a Long-Term Substitute Science Teacher. The ideal candidate will be certified in Biology or have a bachelor's degree in a related field. This is a temporary full-time substitute position assigned to a regular daily teaching schedule and course load.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach assigned students/classes the approved curriculum.

Engage students actively and meaningfully through lesson design, instruction, and assessment.

Identify and implement appropriate instructional practices and methods to meet students' varying ability levels.

Use an appropriate variety and number of assessments to determine student academic progress.

Provide written feedback to students on assessed material on a regular basis.

Implement the IEP requirements of special needs students.

Establish communication with parents through a variety of means to inform them of academic and behavioral progress and achievement.

Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.

Maintain confidentiality with student information.

Qualifications:

Certified science teacher or bachelor's degree in a science-related field.

Strong organizational skills.

Effective written and oral communication skills.

Self-motivated and adept at problem-solving and critical thinking.

Ability to work as part of a team.

Required Clearances:

Act 34, 114, and 151 clearances, Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training; and

Act 168 Sexual Abuse/Misconduct Disclosure; and

Health physical and tuberculin skin test required.
