We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Supervisor to join our team at Midlands Contracting.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of construction professionals in the installation of sanitary sewer, water, and storm sewer systems, as well as the construction of concrete structures such as box culverts and storm sewer structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of construction professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Safety Management: Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel, and conduct regular safety inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that all construction work meets the required quality standards, and implement quality control measures to prevent defects and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that project requirements are met and that any issues or concerns are addressed promptly.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in the construction industry, with a strong background in sanitary sewer, water, and storm sewer installation and concrete structure construction.
  • Skills: Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve high levels of performance. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, engineers, and other stakeholders. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with a degree in a relevant field such as construction management, engineering, or a related field being an asset.
