The University of New Mexico's Facilities Management department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Custodial Services Supervisor to oversee the cleanliness and sanitation of the East Section on UNM's Main Campus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign duties and direct supervision of custodial employees to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of the East Section on UNM's Main Campus.
  • Train new employees in proper custodial procedures, including the use of manually operated tools, electrically-powered machines, cleaning compounds, solvents, and chemicals.
  • Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, and ensure that all necessary materials are available for custodial staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that custodial services meet the needs of the university community.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; at least 3 years of experience in custodial services or a related field.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and custodial supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
  • Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
  • Ability to perform complex tasks and to prioritize multiple projects.
