Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodial Services Specialist to join our team at Albuquerque Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment at our schools and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain all areas of the assigned location, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
  • Ensure that custodial work is performed efficiently and safely, and that resulting work improves the safety and cleanliness of all areas.
  • Comply with local laws and APS procedures for the storage and disposal of supplies, chemicals, trash, and waste.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs and tubes, unplugging plumbing fixtures, and other similar duties as requested.
  • Notify immediate supervisor regarding emergencies, graffiti, and other vandalism on property.
  • Open and close gates and buildings, examine and inspect doors, windows, buildings, and property.
  • Safeguard assigned keys and ensure the security of grounds.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Completed references, including 1 supervisor and 2 co-workers.
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel to various school sites.
  • Ability to regularly lift and move more than 75 pounds in equipment and supplies.
Working Conditions

This position requires working with the Custodial Coordination Department and traveling to various schools to perform custodial duties in vacant positions and temporary openings.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and teamwork skills, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

We offer a competitive salary of $15.00 per hour and a benefit-eligible position.
