Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Custodial Skills Trainer to join our team at Adelante. As a Custodial Skills Trainer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to cleaning and maintenance, including vacuuming, trash removal, sweeping/mopping floors, dusting, restroom cleaning, carpet cleaning, and hard floor maintenance.

You will also be responsible for supervising other personnel in carrying out contract work and training consumers to perform the majority of the duties of the contract. Additionally, you will lead and maintain the standard work pace for quality and quantity of cleaning functions, making any necessary changes to assist the supervisor and facilitate the customer.

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 12:00pm to 8:00pm, with a starting hourly rate of $15.60. Adelante is a drug-free workplace and an equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks, including vacuuming, trash removal, sweeping/mopping floors, dusting, restroom cleaning, carpet cleaning, and hard floor maintenance.
  • Supervise other personnel in carrying out contract work and train consumers to perform the majority of the duties of the contract.
  • Lead and maintain the standard work pace for quality and quantity of cleaning functions, making any necessary changes to assist the supervisor and facilitate the customer.
  • Ensure that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard of quality and quantity.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and other personnel to ensure that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years custodial-work experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante.
  • Must have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
  • Must be able to remain on feet for approximately 90% of the workday.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs frequently.
  • Must be able to operate equipment (vacuums, buffers, extractors, etc.) continuously for several hours at a time.
  • Must be able to climb ladders for cleaning purposes.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The employee must be able to work independently and as part of a team. The employee must also be able to work in a variety of environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
