Job Summary

Kettering Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care and services in our infusion centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure safe and effective medication management for patients receiving care in our infusion centers.
  • Monitor patient treatment medications daily for appropriateness and report discrepancies to ensure compliance with established standards and practice guidelines.
  • Utilize computerized systems to process medication orders, document interventions, and maintain accurate patient records.
  • Correlate patient laboratory results with prescribed therapy to assess need for dosing changes and report concerns to clinical staff.
  • Review and update medication profiles, ensuring awareness of patient charges and potential drug interactions.
  • Provide education to patients and their families on treatment goals, administration schedules, and potential adverse reactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information files and records in the pharmacy department.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities to evaluate the safety, effectiveness, and outcomes of services delivered.
  • Order and stock medication and supplies in accordance with 340B protocols.
  • Supervise the preparation and distribution of medication, as well as the activities of pharmacy technicians.
  • Identify, recommend treatment for, and report adverse drug reactions and therapy errors.
  • Train other pharmacists, technicians, and students on pharmacy services and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of policy and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Requirements
  • Current pharmacy licensure by the state of Ohio.
  • Maintenance of continuing education as required by law.
  • Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy (BS Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy).
  • Preferred completion of PGY1 residency or 3 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
