U.S. Silica is a leading producer of commercial silica used in the oil and gas industry and in a wide range of industrial applications. As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Direct and coach skilled-trades maintenance crews in a union environment, ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of production machinery and equipment.
  • Maintenance Planning: Evaluate and schedule preventative maintenance and unplanned repairs, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and company policies.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow and promote all safety regulations, ensuring the plant adheres to the company's EHS and MSHA policies and regulations.
  • Problem-Solving: Evaluate and problem-solve breakdown and repair issues within the maintenance department, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Resource Management: Schedule personnel and procure materials to accomplish repairs in a timely manner, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Safety Awareness: Promote safety awareness and participate in all safety meetings, ensuring a culture of safety within the maintenance team.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all applicable safety requirements are enforced, and MSHA regulations are followed.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that employees receive regular training in the safe operation of their job duties, and that safety tours are conducted on a regular basis.
  • Weekly Maintenance Planning: Execute and provide input to the weekly maintenance planning process, ensuring full economical utilization of equipment and resources.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Execute and provide input to the preventive maintenance program, ensuring the efficient maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
  • Experience: 5+ years of mechanical experience, with at least 2 years of maintenance and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, experience with root-cause failure analysis, and ability to understand technical manuals and electrical/control schematics.
