Maintenance Technician

At American Chemet Corporation, we are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment, ensuring maximum production and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for corrective action.
• Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
• Review production schedule and change over equipment to new sizes or perform scheduled maintenance.
• Test equipment to check operation and try out equipment after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime.
• Perform preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, reporting findings to the Supervisor and taking appropriate action.
• Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes, taking corrective action where possible.
• Notify the maintenance department or Supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, as well as quality problems or supplies needed.
• Instruct and direct assigned maintenance trainees.
Requirements:
• Satisfactory completion of a formal training program or a minimum of two years' work experience.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Work Environment:
The Maintenance Technician will work in a fast-paced environment with occasional exposure to airborne particles of copper dust and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud in some areas, exceeding 90 dBA. The employee must be able to perform their job functions while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), which will include hard hats, safety eyewear, and protective footwear at a minimum, and may also include respiratory protection, hearing protection, hand protection, coveralls, chemical-resistant clothing, and leather or aluminized jackets.
