Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned professional to oversee the technical management and operational performance of our tanker fleets. This role involves ensuring the vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory and company standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and upgrades, optimizing operational performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Budget Management: Oversee the preparation, execution, and management of vessel budgets, including maintenance, repair, and capital expenditure projects.
  • Technical Guidance: Provide technical guidance and support to superintendents, engineers, and shore-based personnel, ensuring high standards of vessel maintenance and reliability.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate vessel performance, including fuel consumption, emissions, and overall efficiency, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including IMO, USCG, MARPOL, SOLAS, and other relevant standards.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, shipyards, classification societies, flag states, and regulatory bodies to ensure timely and cost-effective service delivery.
  • Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits of vessels to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Culture Development: Collaborate with the HSEQ team to promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across the fleet.
  • Team Development: Develop and mentor the technical management team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes, ensuring the tanker fleet remains competitive and compliant.
  • Emergency Response: Support emergency response activities, providing technical expertise during incidents or operational disruptions.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience: 5+ years in Maritime Engineering management.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in technical management of tankers or similar maritime vessels, including prior experience in a senior engineering role onshore.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including class, flag state, and environmental standards.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive strategic initiatives.
