Position Overview

The Extrusion Production Specialist is responsible for operating the extrusion machinery and associated equipment, including scales, cranes, and mixers.

Work Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, alternating between day and night.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize hoists, slings, cranes, and forklifts to safely transport raw materials and finished products within the facility.
  • Accurately weigh, mix, cool, and extrude materials in accordance with operational guidelines and supervisory directives.
  • Collect and prepare necessary materials for production processes.
  • Label all materials appropriately as they exit the department to maintain effective inventory control.
  • Employ various gauges, instruments, and tools to execute work tasks.
  • Conduct process and quality control checks as needed.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area consistently.
  • Report any maintenance issues or emergencies to management promptly.
  • Adhere to all ISO systems and procedures, participating in audits as necessary.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Skills and Abilities

  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and follow work instructions, understand technical drawings, and safely operate various tools and equipment. Competence in basic mathematical calculations and forklift operation.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse workforce and maintain high ethical standards.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in verbal and written communication, capable of conveying information clearly and responding to inquiries.
  • Computer Skills: Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook.
  • Business Acumen: Strong judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift up to 65 pounds occasionally, and communicate effectively in English.

Work Environment

This position is primarily in a manufacturing setting, where exposure to moderate noise, dust, and varying temperatures may occur. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be necessary.
