Job Description

The Development Director will play a crucial role in building and maintaining fundraising goals, including grant writing, philanthropic campaigns, and donor relationships. This position will work closely with the Executive Director and Program Director to establish goals, develop strategies, and achieve outcomes for fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, and grant-writing efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and cultivate partnerships with national and state government organizations, community-based organizations, and regional partners to develop fundraising opportunities and efforts.
  • Lead STEM development and fundraising efforts with CTE, workforce boards, and other organizations to develop projects for STEM and CCL pathways and pipelines for K-12 entities and college and career readiness in Eastern Oregon communities.
  • Prospect potential funders by researching funding sources, initiating contact, and maintaining relationships year-round to ensure a growing support base.
  • Elevate GO STEM work by ensuring timely and high-quality communication with the media, partner organizations, and community, including press releases, presentations, media relationships, and partnership development related to Hub staff, projects, and other partner and funder cultivation efforts.
  • Provide leadership and support to partner organizations in aligning resources to GO STEM Hub priorities, such as providing expertise on program/project design, reviewing/co-developing grant proposals, and providing letters of support.
Requirements
  • Masters Degree in business, educational leadership, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of experience fundraising with ability to create, lead, and implement successful fundraising efforts (campaign management, major gifts, documentation, and management) at large and small-scale operational levels.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated knowledge of donor acquisition and engagement techniques, individual gift proposal development and presentation, campaign assessment, organization, and leadership.
  • Five (5) years of data collection, management, and analysis for fundraising efforts. Education research preferred.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated successful experience in leveraging partnerships and collaborating with the PreK-12 and university, industries, community partners, and other youth-oriented institutions and organizations.
  • Three (3) years of supervisory experience of multiple professionals and program areas for future growth.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in business, educational leadership, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field.
  • Fundraising Certification: training in fundraising, giving, donor programs.
  • Seven (7) years of advanced specialized experience in relationship management, donor communication, problem solving and critical thinking, and presentation skills.
  • Seven (7) years of data collection and research for fundraising development, management, and reporting.
  • Seven (7) years of experience leveraging, developing, managing, and advocating for resources in the K-12 and university setting, including:
    • Successful fundraising as part of a team and independently,
    • Experience enhancing revenue, containing costs, and compliance to associated policies,
    • Successful management of multiple funding and revenue streams, braiding funding, and tracking of multiple and varied funding/reporting cycles
