Job Title: Central Market Broadway Cooking School Instructor

Central Market Broadway Cooking School Instructor is a Sales Specialist role that requires basic and some advanced skills in procedures and techniques specific to the area of specialization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying accepted guidelines, rules, and procedures to decisions, continually monitoring and immediately addressing problems, and making sound decisions on everyday issues and problems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and address high-priority activities first
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Organize, clean, and prepare back areas for incoming deliveries
  • Keep sales floors uncluttered and free from spills
  • Stock, rotate items as needed, maintain standards/shrink, safety, and inventory control
  • Reset products and maintain shelf conditions ensuring integrity of shelf tags and signage in department
  • Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality
  • Ensure that all federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met
  • Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control
  • Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales
Requirements:
  • Typically requires 2-5 years of experience
  • Knowledge of department product, food preparation, and equipment
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation is essential
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Passion for food
  • Materials Handling Equipment certification
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures
