Job Summary

Central Market Broadway Cooking School Instructor FT is a dynamic role that requires a Sales Specialist to apply basic and some advanced skills in procedures and techniques specific to the area of specialization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maximizing sales by ordering assigned products, merchandising, fronting, and selling products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and written instructions to apply accepted guidelines, rules, and procedures to decisions.
  • Continually monitor and immediately address problems to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Make sound decisions on everyday issues and problems to drive business growth.
  • Identify and address high-priority activities first to ensure timely completion.
  • Provide excellent customer service to build strong relationships with customers.
  • Organize, clean, and prepare the back area for incoming deliveries to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Keep the sales floor uncluttered and free from spills to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Stock, rotate items as needed, maintain standards, shrink, safety, and inventory control to minimize losses.
  • Reset products and maintain shelf conditions to ensure integrity of shelf tags and signage in the department.
  • Check shipments for out-of-date and damaged product to ensure freshness and quality.
  • Ensure that all federal, state, and company regulations and standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation are met.
  • Maintain standards in shrink, safety, and inventory control to drive business growth.
  • Assist in merchandising the department to maximize sales.
  • Use suggestive selling techniques to maximize sales.
Requirements
  • Typically requires 2-5 years of experience in sales and merchandising.
  • Knowledge of department product, food preparation, and equipment.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialty food products and food preparation is essential.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Passion for food.
  • Materials Handling Equipment certification.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Previous retail/restaurant experience required.
