Job Summary

The Senior Quality Engineer will be responsible for the development and maintenance of production quality standards and documentation. This includes defining quality requirements for new products, preparing and maintaining vital documentation, monitoring production and fabrication quality performance, and reviewing and maintaining quality files, procedures, and work instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, edit, revise, and update vital documents associated with the Quality System, including the Quality Manual and electronic delivery system.
  • Ensure processes needed for the Quality System are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Promote awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Administer the Corrective Action Request system and Customer Complaints.
  • Plan, develop, conduct, and coordinate experimental test programs.
  • Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish and/or evaluate performance standards and limits for new or existing supplier products.
  • Communicate and resolve issues with project teams, R&D teams, suppliers, and manufacturers.
  • Write and/or approve production control plans.
  • Protect customers from defects by applying production control plans, mistake-proofing techniques, hard and soft process controls, and audits.
  • Apply statistical methodology, including capability studies and analysis, statistical process control, design of experiments, and measurement systems analysis.
  • Develop new methods for improving processes and identifying areas for improvement based on data analysis.
  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present formal reports to management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience.
  • Proficient with structured methodologies, including Good Engineering Practices, Quality by Design, Design Space, and Process Control Strategies.
  • Strong team and interpersonal skills with proven ability to lead and influence others to make positive change.
  • Ability to work with, assist, influence, and direct Manufacturing Engineers.
  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong New Product Development background a plus.
  • Experience in Kaizen and Six Sigma Projects a plus.
  • A3/8D experience a plus.
