Job Summary

Spectrum Health Systems is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Area Director to join our team in the Western Region. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation, administration, and monitoring of correctional treatment programs in the region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Virginia Department of Corrections (VA DOC) personnel to ensure contract compliance, accountability, quality of care, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide high-level responsiveness, including after-hours and on-call communications.
  • Implement, administer, and monitor assigned correctional treatment programs in the western region, and assist the Area Director with sites requiring special attention.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Sciences, or Criminal Justice required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of Evidence-Based Treatment and Programs for Criminal Justice populations.
  • Experience providing oversight of multiple programs highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of management or supervision experience required.
  • Corrections experience or experience directing services within a secure environment desired.
  • Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credentials must be earned within 2 years of employment as a condition of employment.
