About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at Marmon Holdings, Inc. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in developing and commercializing innovative solutions that meet our customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support existing legacy product lines through managing engineering change requests, quality enhancements, product improvements, and supplier communications.
  • Lead engineering efforts on assigned projects, including ownership of design, prototyping, testing, CAD, CBOM, and IP.
  • Prepare 3D models and detailed engineer drawings in SolidWorks of complicated components and assemblies.
  • Present conceptual ideas and solutions to internal and external cross-functional teams.
  • Function as a highly valued team player who works in cross-functional teams to define design parameters and product goals.
  • Establish performance standards and develop/perform tests to ensure solutions meet design parameters and product goals.
  • Use the scientific method to assess problems and test solutions.
  • Utilize prototype fabrication and outsource resource management.
  • Take concepts from initial to final design, determining appropriate process methods and material recommendations based on product requirements.
  • Support product launches throughout the entire stage gate new product development process.
  • Keep leadership apprised of work and ongoing issues.
  • Support other departmental engineering efforts as needed.
Requirements
  • Competencies: Technical Expertise, Decision Making, Driving Innovation, Communication, Collaborating, Technology Savvy.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in plastics processing, sheet metal design, metal fabrication, designing for and working with additive manufacturing prototypes, and collaborating with suppliers.
  • Computer Skills: High proficiency with SolidWorks 3D software and Windows-based office software. Experience with advanced analysis in areas such as FEA, Cycle Fatigue, and Tolerance Analysis is preferred.
  • Certificates & Licenses: Valid driver's license required. SolidWorks or FEA certifications are a plus.
Work Environment

Work is performed largely in office and manufacturing environments. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours (8AM-5PM) with at least 40 hours a week. At times, there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. Occasional travel may be required.
