Behavioral Health Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse in our Behavioral Health unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and leading our healthcare team. Your primary function will be to assess, plan, guide, and evaluate nursing care provided to patients, ensuring a safe and competent environment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care and a passion for delivering high-quality nursing services. You will be responsible for managing patients admitted or being seen for medical conditions or surgical procedures, and will work closely with hospital staff and ancillary departments to ensure seamless patient care.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.
  • Leading and supporting the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
  • Collaborating with hospital staff and ancillary departments to address patient care concerns and conflicts.
  • Ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures, and adhering to the STHS Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Qualifications include:

  • A minimum of one year full-time or three years part-time experience in an acute care setting.
  • A valid RN license in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license.
  • A BSN degree or higher, or an Associate Degree or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University.
  • Current certifications, according to unit-specific needs, such as BCLS/CPR, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, STABLE, CPI, and SAMA.
