Position Summary

We are seeking an entry-level Accounting Assistant to join our corporate office. This role involves providing essential accounting and administrative support in a dynamic office setting. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of office and accounting procedures, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform accurate data entry. There is significant potential for professional development, and training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the office management team with various accounting tasks, focusing primarily on accounts payable.
  • Performing general data entry, managing office supply orders, handling shipping requirements, and maintaining organized filing systems.
  • Assisting Project Managers with project coordination, including managing subcontracts, tracking subcontractor insurance, and processing project lien releases.
  • Ensuring the office, storage, and kitchen areas are clean and organized.
  • Contributing to the office management team to promote the values and processes of Pete Hill Construction Co Inc.

Qualifications

  • Some experience in administrative and/or accounting roles, with a preference for knowledge in accounts payable.
  • Experience in data entry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Professional demeanor and a desire to be a vital part of the team.
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound judgment skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and maintain a positive attitude.
