Position Overview

This role involves travel to various residential programs and office locations. Remote work is available one day per week.

The Clinician in our Residential programs is tasked with delivering a comprehensive range of direct clinical services to youth across multiple residential settings, including the Residential Treatment Center, Non-Secure Programs in the Justice for Youth and Families division, and the Supervised Independent Living Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based individual, family, and group therapy to residents.
  • Conduct Licensed Evaluations to assess the behavioral strengths and weaknesses of youth, determine medical necessity for services, and identify additional needed services.
  • Formulate Treatment Plans that outline the youth's conditions, the scope of services to be provided, expected outcomes, and treatment frequency and duration.
  • Implement Crisis Intervention Activities for youth experiencing psychiatric, behavioral, or situational distress.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all clinical services in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, facilitating team meetings and participating in discussions regarding program needs.
  • Engage in Family Treatment Conferences and intake interviews as necessary, as well as meetings focused on admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions and crisis management as required.
  • Educate other staff on clinically relevant topics and help cultivate therapeutic environments based on the PBIS framework.
Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field is required.
  • Possession of a New York State Professional License or a Limited Permit in one of the following areas: Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Psychoanalyst, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT), or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).
  • A minimum of two years of experience in providing therapy and treatment services for at-risk youth and families.
  • Experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and evidence-based psychotherapy interventions is preferred.
  • A valid New York State Driver's License is preferred.
  • Bilingual/Spanish skills are preferred.
  • Experience in foster care is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and excellent writing abilities for accurate and detailed documentation.

Expected Work Hours:

Flexibility in hours is required, including evenings, with shift hours varying based on the needs of the child and family.

Starting Salary: 70k (licensed), 68k (limited permit)
