Residential Aide

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Residential Aide to join our team at Volunteers of America-Greater New York. As a Residential Aide, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transitional family shelter, providing exceptional customer service to our clients, and contributing to a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise front desk staff activities to ensure adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Monitor building safety and make scheduled rounds to safeguard clients and property.
  • Oversee client participation in daily program activities and provide optimal customer service.
  • Arrange and transport clients to appointments, escort clients to assigned apartments, and distribute linens and supplies.
  • Accept new clients in electronic records database.
  • Provide emergency response, including crisis management, first aid, CPR, and fire response as needed.
  • Complete Incident Reports as outlined by the Program Manual and Funder guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High school degree or GED preferred with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Valid state driver's license with a safe driving record that meets agency policy preferred.
  • Ability to communicate professionally (oral and written) with Spanish-speaking clients preferred.
