Avera Health is expanding its Maternal Fetal Medicine services. Key features include:

  • A collaborative environment supported by a robust team of specialists, including 4 perinatal advanced practice providers, 2 genetic counselors, 12 obstetricians, 8 OB advanced practice providers, 5 nurse midwives, 6 neonatologists, and 17 neonatal advanced practice providers.
  • A well-equipped 14-bed labor and delivery unit, complete with dedicated operating rooms for cesarean sections and a 24-bed postpartum unit, facilitating approximately 2,400 births annually.
  • A state-of-the-art clinic integrated with the hospital, featuring 5 ultrasound rooms equipped with advanced GE ultrasound technology.
  • A dedicated clinic staff comprising 4 advanced practice providers for admissions and rounds, 5 registered nurses, 2 genetic counselors, and 13 sonographers.
  • The Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic provides ultrasound interpretation and telemedicine services across 14 locations in the tri-state area.
  • A specialized Maternal Fetal Transport team is available for labor and delivery services.
  • The neonatal unit includes a newly established 43-bed Level III NICU, staffed with pediatric subspecialists in various fields such as anesthesiology, surgery, cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, neurology, and radiology.
