About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Development Specialist to join our team at Nebraska Furniture Mart. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a critical role in evaluating, analyzing, developing, testing, implementing, and maintaining application software systems that support various aspects of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research to examine processes and functions related to assigned tasks, and collaborate with users and other analysts to problem-solve and define needs.
  • Project Management: Develop action plans, including identification of tasks, resources needed, and time frames, and coordinate implementation with the Programmer, Team Leader, and/or User Representative assigned to the task.
  • Software Development: Write programs for tasks assigned that meet requirements based on specifications and department standards, and test and modify programs as needed to ensure they run as specified.
  • Communication and Coordination: Follow up on the status of tasks assigned and update to production when approved, and be the primary contact for business leaders and users for task management, application, projects, and design.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience preferred, with a minimum of 4 years of software development experience and 2 years of experience in Agile Frameworks and tools like Azure DevOps.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding and experience developing REST services with.NET, working knowledge of UI frameworks (e.g., Angular), working knowledge of security best practices (e.g., OWASP), and experience with Azure AD and multi-tenant applications.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work both independently and within a team framework, motivate colleagues to manage projects effectively, and accomplish difficult tasks with minimal supervision/review by others.
