Key Responsibilities:
Safety First. Take initiative in prioritizing safety across all operations for yourself and your colleagues, adhering to MSHA and Vulcan safety standards.
Maintenance and Repair of Equipment. Conduct servicing, repairs, adjustments, and testing of all mobile machinery to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
Equipment Inspection. Examine all mobile equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot issues. Execute repairs as necessary to resolve identified problems.
Material Handling. Safely manage, install, position, and transport parts, materials, and industrial tools throughout the facility.
Documentation. Ensure accurate and thorough documentation is completed daily and monthly for all mobile equipment. Maintain service reports in both written and electronic formats.
Operational Support. Assist in operating heavy machinery and vehicles as needed to maintain efficient production processes.
Physical Demands. Engage in physical activities that require full-body movement and significant use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling materials.
Additional Duties. Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
QualificationsEssential Skills and Experience:
Previous Experience. Proven background in maintenance and welding on industrial or heavy construction machinery, commonly referred to as Yellow Iron:
- Industrial or construction welding
- Excavators
- Dozers
- Backhoes
- Loaders
- Haul trucks
Familiarity with brands such as CAT, Empire, Vermeer, Volvo, Deere, Komatsu, and others.
Knowledge of Best Practices. Demonstrated understanding of best practices in using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment. A general awareness of the occupational hazards associated with welding is preferred. Comprehensive knowledge of servicing heavy construction machinery is a REQUIREMENT.
- Understanding of Tier 4 Finals on Heavy Equipment Standards
- Troubleshooting skills
- Proficiency in diagnostics and computer-based troubleshooting for heavy equipment
- Knowledge of engine, hydraulics, and electronics
Flexibility. Willingness to work overtime and extended hours based on company and customer needs. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and tolerate exposure to loud noises.
Mechanical Aptitude. Familiarity with industrial tools, their applications, and maintenance.

Compensation: The base salary range for this position is between $45.00 and $50.00 per hour. Compensation is determined based on various factors, including skill set, experience, job scope, and current market data.
