Position Details:
Status: Full-time
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays, Day shift
Compensation: $31 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct gross examination and dissection of surgical pathology specimens.
- Assist pathologists during intraoperative procedures, ensuring timely preparation and staining of frozen section slides of high quality.
- Prepare reagents and stains adhering to departmental quality standards.
- Perform and document scheduled preventative maintenance.
- Operate in a dynamic laboratory environment, managing biological and chemical hazards.
- Uphold safety, compliance, and quality control measures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution, meeting CLIA-88 requirements.
- Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a pathology laboratory.
- Proficient in anatomic/medical terminology for dictating gross dissections.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of laboratory information systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to operate various laboratory equipment, including computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, and microscopes.
