Overview


The Inventory Control Specialist is tasked with overseeing and managing the maintenance parts inventory essential for operations at Toray Composites.

This role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including the receipt, documentation, distribution, and transportation of parts and supplies to and from the storage facility. The position also involves planning the organization of the warehouse and other storage areas, optimizing storage locations based on usage patterns, maintaining accurate inventory records, and managing the computerized inventory system while conducting physical inventory audits as necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Maintenance Parts Inventory, ensuring high levels of inventory accuracy.
  • May involve traveling off-site to procure necessary parts.
  • Investigate and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Coordinate and monitor the collection and delivery of materials.
  • Authorize invoices as required.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts within the maintenance management software.
  • Support Maintenance Technicians by providing appropriate parts.
  • Organize and stock maintenance inventory efficiently.
  • Manage the receiving process for all incoming goods.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts as needed, including cycle counts.
  • Assemble preventive maintenance kits to facilitate maintenance tasks.
  • Analyze usage reports to identify trends in repairs and part failures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in operating a forklift is required.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, including odd hours and shifts.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, with experience in inventory management software and barcoding systems being advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate with external vendors.
Educational Background

  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
  • An associate degree or completion of a specialized training program in a related field is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Forklift operation certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
  • This position involves working with technologies subject to U.S. export control regulations, necessitating a review of candidate information for compliance.
