Job Overview

Globe Machine Manufacturing is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Controls Specialist to join our team in Tacoma, WA.

This role involves designing and developing electro-mechanical equipment and control systems for industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, PLC programming, and HMI software design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and drawings to determine electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components for mechanical equipment.
  • Use computer-assisted design software to create detail drawings and schematics.
  • Program PLC-based control systems for manufacturing equipment.
  • Conduct tests of completed units and components under operational conditions.
  • Record test procedures and results, and make appropriate changes to equipment.
  • Field commission equipment at customer sites, and make adjustments and recommendations as needed.
  • Assist with the authoring of equipment maintenance and instruction manuals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in designing electro-mechanical equipment for manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in industrial electrical design, PLC programming, HMI software design, and industrial networking.
  • Proven proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Rockwell and Siemens programming software.
  • Ability to read drawings, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Experience in field start-up, testing, and troubleshooting of equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
