Job Overview

Agriberry LLC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Market Associate to join our team. As a key member of our sales and marketing team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high-quality market site, and assisting with sales and distribution of our produce and products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service and Sales: Provide premium sales service to all customers, ensuring a high-quality market site is maintained at all times. This includes product knowledge, accurate and attractive signs, and fully stocked and appealing displays.
  2. CSA Share Assembly and Distribution: Convey familiarity, assurance, and gratitude while promoting our products. Accuracy is vital in CSA share assembly.
  3. Site Setup and Breakdown: Assist the Market Lead with setting up and breaking down the market site, including setting up tables, canopies, stocking, writing and/or hanging signs, and making the market site ready for sales.
  4. Marketing and Product Knowledge: Attend marketing meetings to maintain knowledge of weekly share, produce source, seasonal availability, growing methods, and fruit quality standards. Stay up-to-date on product information and updates.
  5. Record Keeping and Accuracy: Responsible for making notes of special items, discounted items, free items offered to Market Managers, and tracking discounts and culled subpar-quality fruit. Accurately note this information on supplied notecards to reconcile products sold with income.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. Experience and Skills: One or more years of experience in the farming or marketing field, with accurate and quick basic mental math skills, highly developed communication skills, and ability to successfully pass a background check.
  2. Physical Demands: Able to lift and carry up to 30-50 lbs independently, tolerate extreme temperatures, stand for long periods of time, and bend, kneel, slide, shuffle, push, and pull safely with 25 lbs of product.
  3. Availability: Availability May-October, with the ability to work at early hours (7am) on the weekend and evenings during the week.
Performance Standards
  1. Customer Feedback: Positive customer feedback about service, with low/no percentage of discrepancy between recorded sales and monetary calculations.
  2. Market Sales Records: Maintaining and/or increasing market sales records.
  3. Reliability: 95% or higher attendance throughout the market season, with no call-outs day-of and timeliness being a must.
