Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of work, cleanliness of buildings, and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Clean all facilities, including regular cleaning of exposed spaces, bathrooms, and floors.
  • Perform a monthly inventory of supplies and survey equipment to ensure timely repairs.
  • Replenish and distribute supplies and equipment to ensure continued performance of custodial services.
  • Review and test new cleaning products for vendors and recommend new products for consideration.
  • Participate in assigned meetings, events, and training as required.

Facilities and Operations:

  • Identify areas in need of maintenance and repair and respond promptly and effectively.
  • Perform basic maintenance, construction, and technology tasks and effectively utilize resources to accomplish them.
  • Provide general maintenance to facilities, including regular maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs.
  • Ensure major repairs and maintenance are completed as requested.
  • Complete routine maintenance of all heating and ventilation systems.
  • Assist in remodeling, refurbishing, and repairing of office spaces, classrooms, and storage units.
  • Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs and maintenance.
  • Ensure regular maintenance and upkeep of outdoor environments, including lawns, landscaped beds, playgrounds, outdoor structures, and parking lots.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Substitution: An equivalent combination of related education and related experience may be considered for this position.
  • Successfully complete and maintain basic First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AA/AS preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA Standards and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems including internet navigation.
  • Must be honest, dependable, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.
