Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier. In this role, you'll be responsible for providing friendly and cooperative service to internal and external customers, processing customer orders efficiently and accurately, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service, welcoming and engaging with customers to create a positive shopping experience
  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently, using check stand equipment such as cash registers, scanners, and scales
  • Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques to promote products and increase sales
  • Process monetary transactions, including cash, checks, gift certificates, and food stamps, while adhering to all Cash Handling and Lane Accountability policies and procedures
  • Maintain knowledge of current product location, monitor UPC codes, and ensure proper pricing
  • Stock, price, and rotate merchandise to ensure a well-stocked and visually appealing store environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed, including working at a multi-station self-checkout lane or customer service counter
Requirements
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to perform customer relation tasks
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects of varying dimensions and weights up to 20 lbs. frequently and perform repetitious work accurately
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to learn and memorize a considerable amount of information, including PLU codes, product location, and company policies
  • Basic math skills and ability to ensure accuracy in scanning and verifying sales
Additional Requirements
  • As required by applicable state and local laws, food safety/handlers cards, tobacco and alcohol sales certification (e.g., TAM card)
  • For minors hired, hours may differ as well as machines and equipment operated
