The Air Line Pilots Association, International, recognized as the foremost union for airline pilots and a leading non-governmental organization in aviation safety, is seeking a qualified Benefits Administration Specialist to enhance their team.
The Benefits Administration Specialist will collaborate with fellow Benefits Specialists, Benefits Attorneys, and other members of the Retirement & Insurance (R&I) department to provide expert guidance to pilot governing bodies regarding their employee benefits programs. This position encompasses support in various benefit areas, including group life, health, dental, disability, and Section 125 plans. Responsibilities include offering technical assistance on benefits issues, drafting communications related to benefits, preparing informative newsletters, and engaging in benefits training sessions.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Pre-Law, or a related discipline from an accredited institution is required; or equivalent education and experience.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in employee benefits is essential, with preference for candidates with more extensive backgrounds.
- Proficiency in the design and implementation of retirement and welfare benefits is necessary.
- Understanding of legal frameworks associated with retirement and welfare benefits is crucial, including ERISA, ACA, FMLA, HIPAA, and the Internal Revenue Code.
- Strong communication skills are vital for effective interaction with various stakeholders.
- Capability to function efficiently as part of a collaborative team.
