Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Harrison Senior Living of Chester County. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assume charge and direction of the floor, collaborating with the Director of Resident Services to ensure quality care is provided.
  • Create and manage nurse aide assignments to meet resident needs.
  • Notify the Director of Resident Services of any changes in resident condition or issues with staff members.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to established policies and procedures.
  • Update resident support plans daily as needed.
  • Assess residents and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Assist with resident activities of daily living (ADLs) as necessary.
  • Ensure proper nutrition and hydration for residents.
  • Accompany physicians on resident visits to ensure continuity of care.
  • Transcribe physician orders in a timely manner.
  • Monitor nursing care and visit residents to ensure care is carried out as directed.
  • Participate in receiving and giving report to ensure continuity of care.
  • Communicate necessary information to nurse aides and other staff members.
  • Complete incident/accident reports in a timely manner.
  • Collect samples from residents for testing as needed.
  • Communicate with families, residents, and staff as necessary.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are available for all disciplines.
  • Participate in staff meetings to enhance communication between disciplines.
  • Participate in problem resolution regarding employees and floor issues.
  • Participate in orientation and training of personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Accurately document all care provided to residents during and after shifts.
  • Chart medications immediately after administration, per policy.
  • Provide input to the Director of Resident Services regarding nurse aide performance.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education programs.
  • Function within the limits of the Pennsylvania State Professional Standards Title 49 Chapter and in accordance with the scope of practice permitted with licensure.
Requirements
  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing and possess a current Practical Nurse license in good standing from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Demonstrated management, communication, and observation skills with an interest in geriatrics.
  • Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Word required.
