Your Role and Impact

This position acts as the global technical referral point for the Global Marine claims team, collaborating with regional claims leadership, Global Marine business leaders, and other stakeholders to ensure a consistent, efficient, and customer-focused Marine Recovery strategy.


Key Responsibilities:


- Provide expert technical marine recovery support and leadership across the Global Marine claims portfolio, focusing on achieving optimal recovery outcomes through technical excellence and Total Cost of Claim management.

- Serve as the Global Marine Recovery coordinator for significant claims, authorizing settlements and payments within designated authority and escalating decisions beyond authority to senior claim leadership.

- Collaborate closely with the North America Marine Liability Claim manager to enhance the capabilities of Global Marine Recovery, ensuring the necessary skill sets are in place to support both current and future claim portfolios.

- Continuously review existing best practice guidelines and claim adjustment procedures in partnership with the NA Marine Liability Claim manager to identify and implement enhancements for Global Marine Recovery.

- Contribute to AIG's thought leadership in Global Marine Recovery by supporting Claims colleagues in participating in market seminars, programs, and industry events.

- Assist in the implementation of VBA, LRA, and future digital initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency.

- Support the NA Marine Liability Claim manager in identifying and reporting trends, lessons learned, and risk management opportunities in Global Marine Recovery, sharing insights with relevant stakeholders across Claims, Underwriting, Actuarial, Finance, and Risk Management.

Reports to the North America Marine Liability Claim Manager

Qualifications for Success:
- Strong technical capability in Marine Recovery to manage and oversee AIG's Global Marine Recovery portfolio.
- Established and proven reputation in Global Marine Recovery management.
- Ability to manage the total cost of Global Marine Recovery indemnity and expenses.
- Identify, develop, and implement process improvement and efficiency opportunities.

- A highly collaborative approach to influence a diverse range of Global Marine stakeholders, customers, and brokers across various functions, geographies, and cultures.
