Senior Software Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Development Engineer to join our team at Expedia Group. As a key member of our Strategic Partnerships and Affiliates team, you will play a critical role in building the next-generation, scalable B2B partnership platform that will power hundreds of thousands of demand partners across the industry.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with peers, leaders, and partners across functions and business groups to come up with technology solutions to business problems
- Lead a community of engineers and help strengthen the team
- Own the end-to-end product life cycle for large-scale projects: design, development, testing, deployment, and providing operational excellence and support
- Find and advocate for industry standards in development methodologies, techniques, and technologies
- Share domain and industry knowledge between multi-functional teams
- Research and recommend frameworks and architectural/code design patterns
- Mentor and coach junior members on the team
- Advocate for operational excellence (such as unit testing, establishing SLAs, programming for resiliency and scalability)
- Take a whole systems approach to analyze issues and implement comprehensive solutions by ensuring that linkages between structure, people, process, and technology are made
- Anticipate and prevent problems and roadblocks, before they occur, report on status of difficult or critical projects to leadership
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical field; or equivalent related professional experience
- 10+ years of experience in a Software Development Engineer or similar role
- Full stack engineering with expert level experience in Java, Kotlin or an equivalent language
- Experience working with front end technologies such as ReactJS, NodeJS, AngularJS or an equivalent language
- Experience working with GraphQL or an equivalent strongly typed language
- Demonstrated understanding of cloud services
- Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms
- Experience leading cross-functional large-scale projects
- Mentored and developed other software engineers
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely
- Experience in Agile/Scrum software development practices and version control tools such as Git
