Job Title: Technology Support Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Technology Support Specialist to join our team at Appalachian State University. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our faculty, staff, and students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support for a wide range of IT systems, including hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Design, implement, and troubleshoot technology solutions to meet the needs of our users.
  • Manage the distribution and installation of audiovisual equipment in multimedia classrooms.
  • Maintain and apply specialization in systems administration, client management, network environment, and IT infrastructure units.
  • Research, design, specify, and support audio-visual and personal computer classroom equipment to meet the educational mission of Appalachian State University.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in the IT field, preferably in a support role.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard desktop computing environment, Windows, MacOS/OSX, iOS, and Android operating systems.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Extron Electronics A/V equipment (operation, installation, and programming).
  • Knowledge of A/V systems (Projector, Video Transport, switching, Document Cameras, Extron Control systems).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
