Job Summary

This role provides technical and operational support for Harvard University's Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs to minimize risks and ensure compliance with EHS laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as an EHS service liaison for schools and departments, providing technical support and guidance on EHS programs and regulations.
  • Conduct EHS inspections, investigations, and assessments to identify hazards and develop corrective action plans.
  • Develop and implement school/department-specific Safety and Compliance Management Plans, including operational calendars and compliance deadlines.
  • Provide training and education on EHS programs and regulations to schools and departments.
  • Collaborate with EHS project teams to develop and implement EHS initiatives and programs.
Requirements
  • BS or BA in occupational safety, environmental science, or related field, or equivalent professional training and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of safety/EHS-related experience, including practical and theoretical knowledge of industrial/institutional safety and environmental compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including training program delivery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced operations environment, handling multiple assignments and priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification in occupational safety, environmental science, or related field.
  • Experience with database management and technology skills, including Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of HTML or other web tools.
Work Environment

This is a hybrid position based in Massachusetts, with a mix of on-site and remote work. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple assignments and priorities, and will be expected to maintain a high level of technical expertise and customer service.
