Operations Supervisor Job Description

LHH is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead a team of production employees in a manufacturing facility in Indianapolis, Indiana. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing production output, reducing scrap, and improving processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and develop production employees to achieve operational targets
  • Coach direct reports and provide feedback on project outcomes
  • Meet or exceed operational targets by managing headcount, improving performance, and achieving departmental goals
  • Manage overall workload and resources to meet customer requirements
  • Provide technical support for day-to-day production activities
  • Operate machinery as needed to achieve production goals
  • Develop and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
  • Lead scrap reduction projects and improve equipment uptime and output
  • Implement automation where necessary to improve performance
  • Develop new SOPs and train staff on changes

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, material processing, or heavy machinery
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience leading teams in a manufacturing or processing facility
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, trouble-shooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Highly motivated and able to succeed with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
