This position oversees the State Aid Emergency Relief Program for local public agencies across the state. The candidate will coordinate and monitor the use of disaster relief funds, including State and FHWA resources. Additionally, this role assists the Special Programs Engineer, State Aid Project Development Engineer, and State Aid Plans Engineer in reviewing and approving Environmental Documentation, construction plans, agreements, and pay requests for locally initiated federally funded Projects.

Key Responsibilities

Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) is required. If obtaining licensure through comity, a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.

Experience in transportation project development from scoping to construction is essential.

Applying the National Environmental Project Act requirements (NEPA) is a critical aspect of this role.

Reading and interpreting construction plans is a key skill required for this position.
