Job Duties:
  • Gather and analyze research data and proposed product specifications to determine feasibility.
  • Consult with research personnel, sales, and principal engineer to clarify or resolve issues and develop design.
  • Plan, design, and develop products or components in projects assigned, preparing or directing preparation of project/system layout, detailed drawings, and schematics.
  • Analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications.
  • Create product documentation, including manuals, architectural surveys, and layout drawings to support new products.
  • Update product manuals as necessary to stay current with product and component changes.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering and design tasks.
  • Manage projects, changes, and/or development from start through completion, communicating, supporting, and interacting with other functional groups.
Qualifications:
  • Requires education generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field.
  • Requires five to seven years in product design engineering duties.
  • Requires knowledge of and ability to manipulate computer-assisted drafting software.
