Position Overview
This role involves the planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of diverse recreational programs and services tailored to enhance patients' social, physical, and cognitive well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engages with patients both in group settings and one-on-one to evaluate therapeutic needs and create suitable activities, programs, and treatment plans.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of treatment, assessments, and patient progress as mandated by departmental standards.
  • Ensures that all equipment is maintained in a safe and functional condition; promptly reports any hazards and requests necessary repairs.
  • Provides guidance and support to Recreational Therapy Assistants, technical staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Participates in research initiatives to identify the need for new programs or services, and formulates recommendations for programs that address specific patient requirements.
  • Collaborates with a multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure comprehensive patient care; attends treatment meetings to discuss patient progress.
  • Undertakes additional related tasks as assigned or requested.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not include management responsibilities and reports to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Educational Requirements
Must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy.

Certifications Required
CTRS certification through NCTRC is mandatory.

Alternative Qualifications
Individuals employed in this position prior to specified criteria are exempt from the above educational and experience prerequisites. Additionally, employees must be eligible for certification and are given a year to secure the necessary certification.

Preferred Skills and Experience
Experience in event planning is advantageous.

Work Schedule
Day shifts are available.
